Hello, and welcome to my web site!

Why GW7ERI? Well, that was the call sign issued to me by the then Dept. of Trade and Industry when I passed my Amateur Radio exam in 1989.  In addition to Amateur Radio related content on this site, I also provide current details of  local weather conditions here in Tutshill, a village close to the town of Chepstow.

Live weather data, collected by a Huger (Oregon Scientific) weather station, is transmitted every twenty minutes via the Amateur Radio APRS network. These transmissions are within the two meter Amateur Radio band, and can be received on a frequency of 144.800mhz if you are within radio range,(please see the update note on 'Station Status' page) or via the APRSIS internet web server. The same data is sent by FTP to the internet (this web site) using FreeWX software. The computers also upload to CWOP (Citizen Weather Observer Program) servers every ten minutes.

Use the links below to find out more about Amateur Radio and the current weather conditions in Chepstow.

Thanks for dropping by, and I hope you enjoy your visit!
